About Us
HydRoad’s mission is to revolutionize the global energy landscape by creating a decentralized, emission-free energy network that combines solar power with hydrogen storage. We believe that achieving a truly sustainable future requires bold innovation and the integration of efficient, scalable systems that address energy production, storage, and distribution as a unified whole.
Our goal is to empower communities, governments, and industries with a cost-effective alternative to traditional fossil fuels and the expensive "electrification" approach. By leveraging existing infrastructure such as roadways, HydRoad minimizes land use, reduces carbon emissions and electronic waste, and fosters energy independence while supporting the global transition to net-zero emissions.
We aim to achieve our mission by:
1. Developing and deploying cutting-edge technologies integrating solar panels and hydrogen storage systems into road infrastructure.
2. Collaborating with governments and industries to implement pilot projects demonstrating the system’s feasibility, scalability, and economic advantages.
3. Educating stakeholders and fostering partnerships to drive widespread adoption of our solution globally.
4. Innovating continuously, using feedback and advancements in materials, AI, and hydrogen technologies to improve efficiency and expand our impact.
HydRoad’s ultimate vision is a world where clean energy is seamlessly embedded into everyday infrastructure, reducing environmental harm while empowering humanity to thrive sustainably.

What's The Problem You Are Solving?
HydRoad addresses one of the most pressing global challenges: the transition to a sustainable energy system capable of meeting growing energy demands without relying on fossil fuels. Current solutions face significant hurdles:
Infrastructure Costs of Electrification: Transitioning to renewable energy heavily depends on electrification, which requires costly upgrades to power grids, high-capacity energy storage, and distribution networks. This approach is resource-intensive and economically unfeasible for many regions.
Energy Storage and Distribution Challenges: Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, are intermittent and require efficient storage and distribution systems. Existing technologies, such as batteries, are expensive, have limited lifespans, and create significant waste.
Land Use for Energy Projects: Renewable energy infrastructure often requires substantial land areas, causing conflicts with agriculture, conservation efforts, and urban development.
Fossil Fuel Dependence in Non-Electric Sectors: Approximately 80% of global energy consumers still rely on fuel rather than electricity, leaving a significant gap in the renewable energy transition.
HydRoad solves these issues by creating a decentralized, emission-free energy network that integrates solar power and hydrogen storage into existing road infrastructure. This approach eliminates the need for extensive new infrastructure, minimizes land use, and provides a dual-source energy system for both electricity and fuel, bridging the gap for non-electric energy consumers. HydRoad enables a practical and scalable path toward a sustainable energy future by reducing costs and increasing environmental impacts.
What's The Solution?
HydRoad’s solution integrates solar panels and hydrogen storage systems into existing road infrastructure, transforming roadways into decentralized, emission-free energy networks. By generating renewable energy directly from road surfaces and storing it as hydrogen, HydRoad provides a versatile energy source that powers both electricity and fuel needs—bridging the gap for industries and sectors that cannot fully electrify.
Our innovative approach offers a unified, cost-effective solution that addresses the entire energy supply chain: production, storage, distribution, and consumption. Unlike other solutions, HydRoad eliminates the need for expensive new infrastructure, minimizes land use, and reduces energy waste associated with battery-based systems.
What Sets Us Apart:
Holistic Integration: Unlike other approaches that combine separate technologies, HydRoad’s system is a single, integrated solution that leverages existing road networks, drastically lowering costs and accelerating deployment.
Dual Energy Output: Our system simultaneously supports electricity and hydrogen fuel needs, addressing sectors that cannot rely solely on electrification.
Cost-Effective Transition: HydRoad reduces infrastructure costs by an estimated 60% compared to the "electrification" model, making it a viable option for governments and industries worldwide.
Minimized Land Use: By utilizing existing roadways, HydRoad avoids the environmental and logistical challenges of constructing large-scale renewable energy installations.
Expert Team: HydRoad is led by Dr. Avraham Arbel, a world-renowned expert in large-scale thermal systems, and Tamar Arbel, a visionary entrepreneur with a strong interdisciplinary background. Together, they bring decades of engineering expertise and innovative thinking to tackle this challenge.
We are solving this problem by:
Developing scalable, pilot-ready technology that integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure.
Collaborating with government and industry partners to deploy pilot projects, showcase economic and environmental benefits, and drive adoption.
Using advanced simulation tools like Building Information Modeling (BIM) to optimize project planning and implementation.
HydRoad is not just an energy solution—it’s a foundation for the future, enabling governments and industries to achieve their sustainability goals without compromising on practicality or cost-efficiency.
Meet The Team
Our next three Steps
Securing government support is a cornerstone of HydRoad’s progress. Recognizing the need for systemic transformation in energy infrastructure, we have actively engaged with policymakers and regulatory bodies. This included aligning HydRoad with national and international carbon reduction targets, presenting our solution as a key enabler of a low-carbon economy. Our participation in governmental programs, such as the Israeli Ministry of Energy's funding opportunities, has laid a solid foundation for obtaining funding, regulatory guidance, and strategic partnerships. These efforts have positioned HydRoad as a leading contender in the transition to sustainable energy, ensuring alignment with both national priorities and international environmental commitments.

2
BIM Simulator Development
To demonstrate the feasibility and scalability of HydRoad, we are developing a comprehensive BIM (Building Information Modeling) simulator. This tool integrates advanced modeling of solar collection, hydrogen generation, and energy distribution along roadways, allowing stakeholders to visualize the implementation and performance of our technology. By using the simulator, we can model various infrastructure scenarios, optimize system design, and provide data-driven insights into HydRoad's economic and environmental impacts. This pivotal step enables us to effectively communicate our vision to potential partners, investors, and policymakers, fostering confidence in our approach and driving broader engagement.
3
Beta Site Pilot Project
The ultimate milestone in our immediate roadmap is the establishment of a beta site pilot project. This physical demonstration will involve implementing HydRoad's technologies along a selected roadway, showcasing real-world performance in energy generation, storage, and distribution. The pilot will validate the system's technical and economic viability, provide tangible results for stakeholders, and set the stage for larger-scale adoption. By proving HydRoad's potential to deliver clean, cost-effective energy, the beta site will catalyze partnerships with infrastructure companies, accelerate regulatory approval, and attract the funding needed for widespread implementation.
Collaboration Opportunities
HydRoad is actively seeking collaboration opportunities with businesses, professionals, and institutions that share our vision of a sustainable, emission-free energy future. Collaboration is at the heart of our mission, as our solution integrates multiple existing technologies into a unified, innovative energy system.
We are particularly interested in partnerships that:
Support Technological Development: Collaborating with experts in solar panel manufacturing, hydrogen electrolyzer and fuel-cells, and AI-driven optimization tools to enhance and refine our system.
Facilitate Pilot Projects: Working with municipalities, government agencies, and infrastructure companies to deploy and test our solution in real-world environments.
Expand Market Reach: Partnering with businesses and policymakers to adapt and scale our solution for diverse markets, from construction projects to national energy grids.
